“Talent development is a key pillar in our education agenda. We shall continue strengthening programs that empower learners to identify and grow their abilities. The challenges we face will be resolved in due course,” her message read.

She congratulated graduates upon completing their vocational training and urged them to use their skills to create jobs for themselves and others.

Mrs Museveni also thanked the institute’s founders for contributing to the skilling of youth, describing such efforts as central to reducing unemployment and advancing the government’s mindset-change campaign.

The minister further pledged to follow up on the graduates to ensure they put their skills to productive use, and she commended parents for supporting their children’s education.

Representing her at the event, Hajjat Namyalo expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and said the ONC remains committed to championing skilling initiatives nationwide.

As the country moves closer to the next general elections, she urged the people of Luwero to elect leaders who prioritise development over personal gain.

She also encouraged NRM supporters to back fellow party candidates, safeguard their votes, and confidently wear party colours as a sign of unity.

Meanwhile, some aspirants for national political positions used the event to express concern over delays at the Electoral Commission in finalising electoral processes.

They said they remain hopeful that they will be allowed to contest once the procedures are concluded.
